Principal's Message

Hello Rooster Nation! We are off to a great start to the school year.

We want to continue to communicate our process with this new reporting system, therefore, we will include various facts in the form of weekly news blasts to help keep you informed during the stages of implementation.
Standards-Based Reporting:
You might be wondering how we assess your child’s learning throughout the school year. Particularly during a child’s elementary years, it is important for parents and educators, alike, to understand there are a variety of developmental factors which impact a child’s readiness to grasp certain topics.  Your student’s learning, however, is assessed using a variety of formative and summative assessments. These may include but are not limited to: traditional teacher generated assessments, verbal assessments, projects, demonstrations, reports, classroom assignments, classroom observations, and/or classroom discussions. Teachers are frequently reviewing student learning through the use of these formative assessments. The final score that is reported in SIS will be determined by a final demonstration of learning.
